Last year, for the inaugural Wine, Women and Shoes event, I participated as a Shoe Guy. The name for my role has changed, but the mission is the same: raising awareness and raising money to benefit the Victim Center by serving as a Sole Man.
The important services that The Victim Center provides (a 24 hour crisis response; victim advocacy services; counseling services; and prevention education) are free of charge. But they are NOT free of cost.
My partner, Shelly, is the Director of Development and Marketing for the agency. In a nutshell, her primary focus is raising money. I’m happy to be able to help her and The Victim Center any way I can, whether that be writing a check, aggressively bidding in the silent auction, or asking my friends to help this essential agency with a contribution.
